PReVENT The PReVENT research project forms part of the 6th framework programme of the EU. Its aim is to increase road traffic safety in the urban environment, on rural roads and on high-speed routes. Ibeo Automobile Sensor is participating as a partner or leader in four separate sub-projects.
APALACI The goal of APALACI is to develop modern PreCrash systems capable of significantly mitigating the accident consequences for vehicle occupants. It entails improving the passenger restraint systems that are provided to protect the vehicle's occupants.
Ibeo Automobile Sensor is supplying an ALASCA laser scanner with new algorithms. It is elegantly integrated in an E-class Mercedes and responsible for accurately detecting all objects located ahead of the vehicle.
COMPOSE The purpose of COMPOSE is to develop and evaluate systems for cars and trucks with the ability to prevent accidents and protect both pedestrians and cyclists. Here again, Ibeo Automobile Sensor is supplying an ALASCA laser scanner. Integrated in the front nearside of a Volvo truck, it precisely detects all the objects in front and to the side of the vehicle.
INTERSAFE Ibeo Automobile Sensor is the leader of the INTERSAFE project, whose object is to improve road safety at crossroads or intersections. It is seeking significantly to reduce the number of accidents on crossroads with the aid of innovative sensor systems on board vehicles and new methods of communication between vehicles and the traffic infrastructure. In this context, INTERSAFE is developing and testing a networked system constructed between vehicles and the infrastructure.
Ibeo Automobile Sensor is supplying two ALASCA laser scanners for elegant installation in a VW Phaeton. Their task is to detect axial and transverse traffic at the crossroads. Ibeo is also supplying a new procedure for merging distance profiles to be used in the production of highly accurate digital maps.
PROFUSION2 PROFUSION2 is seeking substantially to ameliorate the quality and reliability of the applications arising from the various PReVENT sub-projects by progressively merging individual sensor functions. In this connection, Ibeo Automobile Sensor is providing support for the use of the laser scanner in integrated systems.
