ALASCA XT wins AEI TechAward at the SAE World Congress & Exhibition in Detroit
The multi-application sensor ALASCA XT won an award for its high innovative quality at this year's SAE World Congress & Exhibition in Detroit. The latest laser scanner developed by Ibeo Automobile Sensor was presented with the prestigious AEI 2006 Tech Award. A jury of experts commended the integration of seven applications in a single device offering unique laser technology that affords protection against typical road traffic hazards in all weathers and road conditions.
The judges were particularly impressed by the forward-looking safety solution constituted by the ALASCA XT for all road users. The AEI Tech Award, presented every year at the SAE by the international trade journal "Automotive Engineering International", is given in recognition of outstanding innovation that is of special relevance to the automotive industry and readers of the journal.
The SAE World Congress & Exhibition ranks among the largest and most celebrated automotive trade fairs worldwide. This year more than 700 exhibitors presented their companies and products in Detroit from April 3 to 6. About 35,000 visitors from 45 countries took the opportunity to inspect the latest developments and trends in the automotive sector. Ibeo was among the 22 companies exhibiting products made in Germany at the SAE in cooperation with the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA) and the Federal Ministry for Trade and Employment (BMWA).
