| | Turning Assistant
A nightmare scenario for every truck driver - the risk of overseeing a pedestrian or cyclist when turning. The likelihood of injury in such cases is especially high. Nearside turning manoeuvres are particularly hazardous, typically for a cyclist who is alongside the truck but outside the driver's field of view.
Because of the driver's elevated seated position, a large area of the vehicle's left side (right side in countries that drive on the right) is directly invisible and cannot be easily monitored even with mirrors. Their 240° radius enables the Ibeo laser scanners to see more of the vehicle's surroundings and to issue warning and stop signals to the driver as appropriate. They effectively eliminate the blind spot and thus avert danger to other road users. | | | | Find Out More | |
